I
don't have a plant catalog now, why would I want one?
Do you keep pictures of
plants you purchased
(or want to purchase)
and keep them for reference? Do you keep information besides pictures about
plants you have or want? If the answer is yes to either
of
the questions,
then you have a personal plant catalog.
Questions
you need to ask yourself:
-
How much effort is required to keep
the
information organized?
-
How much effort goes into finding plant
information
as needed?
-
How do you keep pictures and text data
together?
-
Can you easily find all flowers by
attributes, i.e.,
color, blooming season, etc.?
Premier Gardens Plant Catalog makes
all
of these tasks a breeze.

The Plant Catalog has lots of information. Do I need to
track all of it?
No. Common name and color is the only
required information for a plant in the Plant Catalog. The level of detail
captured for each plant is an individual choice. Premier Gardens' Plant
Catalog has many features to make it easy to capture your level of detail.

How long does it take to enter Plant Catalog records?
The Plant Catalog is designed with
Rapid Data Entry Technology allowing base records to be
easily
created. Changing a base record creates a new record
while the base record is unchanged. Either
of
the records can be used as a base to create additional records. It’s
as easy as bringing up an existing plant and changing
one or more key attributes
to create a new
plant.

What Plants do I keep in the Plant Catalog?
Premier
Gardens requires
planted plants
to
be
part
of
the
Plant
Catalog. The Plant Catalog comes pre-loaded with many
pictures from bloomingbulb.com online catalog.
.Disclaimer
The gardener can add plants
and
pictures
of
their
choice. Capture
a
picture and attach it to the Plant Catalog record for complete
information.

What Plants does the author track?
I create gardens with themes starting
with the earliest possible flowers in the spring to the latest flowers in
the fall.
I have a Purple garden that I put only
purple, blue or white flowers in. Just about every purple and blue flower
that grows in my growing zone I find, I enter into the Plant Catalog.
I have over 75 tulips and daffodil
cultivars planted and many of them are very similar. I track cultivars for
tulips, hyacinths and daffodils
that I plant.
Other plants include perennials, sunflowers (I develop my own), and some
potted plants that I keep alive during the winter.

Will there be Plant Catalog updates?
We plan to add catalog downloads from our
website for registered users. Updates will be a combination
from bloomingbulb.com,
other gardeners
and
sources sharing their
pictures and
plant records.

Will the updates delete my personal entries?
Premier
Gardens update will not remove records from the plant catalog. It will add
new plant records and keep our
preferred partner catalogs
updated.
